Something about the glow of Christmas lights that just warms the spirit. I have always been in awe of the classic look of houses with candles in each window and that big spotlit wreath on the door. Growing up there was never a shortage of animated characters and even our tiny apartment had a huge front step display. For years, I have coveted those simple white twig lights so last year I ventured to Target the day after Christmas with gift card in hand to secure myself some lawn decorations. This year we added the reindeer and tree to the lawn but then I decided to step things up with a glittering wreath. It’s spotlit of course. And I must boast that I braved the alter and hung the icicle lights myself this year. Then I arranged each area to connect and ultimately work by remote control. When it was all said and done, I was quite proud of myself. And I have decided that each year I may just make that Target trip to add an extra thing to my collection. The first real snowfall of the season really made the whole thing magical.
