The weather could not have been nicer for Halloween. We ventured over to Whitman to Trick or Treat in Grammie & Pops neighborhood as we have the last few years. Julie, Eric & Zac joined us for a bit. Lucy loved having a side kick. Two hours of Trick or Treating served to be bountiful. Jack even ventured up a few driveways. He seem mesmerized by the kids in costumes. We put some crackers in his bucket and that kept him happy. Lucy had endless conversations with folks and served up lots of “thank you”s, “HAPPY HALLOWEEN!”s, and “Have a great night!”s along the way. We even ventured into a scary house that made me scream. I am a wimp. It really was scary but that is what Halloween is all about. Tommy even went out as Spider Man Girl’s Daddy.

1. I am in denial that my baby will be 1 in a week. I refuse to let that happen. He will stay 11 months old forever.
2. Lucy has a wild imagination. Today she told me she saw a cloud that looked like a dinosaur eating a sandwich. Awesome.
3. My brother declared he wanted to buy a Christmas tree. I think it’s fantastic on several counts. But the main reason is that he isn’t afraid to admit how much he loves Christmas. I swear loving the Holidays must be genetic.
4. My children are not getting the H1N1 vaccine.
5. I love the fact that Lucy wants to help out so much lately. We started letting her set the table about 6 months ago and it’s so fun to see her participate in the chores. I’m sure before long we’ll be fighting her to help around the house but for now it’s working. So if you are wondering how to get yoru kids started and when. Give them a tote bag of their laundry and have them fill their dresser or give them the silverware and napkins before dinner. Lucy is also great at folding small hand towels.
6. Every year I send in the kids pictures to the Baby Gap contest. Why not I say! Here are the ones I sent in of them. Vote them as fan favorites! I seriously love Jack in that hat and jean jacket!
7. One of my favorite things about the fall weather is comfort food. I love soups and stews. Now I just need to stay committed and keep up the menu plans.
8. I am happy to announce Lucy will get 6 wears out of her Halloween costume! That is a record if you as me. Makes me that much happier to have made her a special outfit.
9. Please help me with Christmas ideas. I am at a complete loss. You wont’ believe that I have no shopping done.
10. Please keep my extended family in your thoughts and prayers this week. It seems that when it rains it pours. Any one in need of a hug or two knows where to find them.
Have an awesome week and be prepared for a Jack explosion as we tribute his milestone!

It was a ton of fun to co-host a Halloween Party for some Mom’s and their little ones from my local message board. We had a lot of fun and these are just a few pictures I had to share of our friends. Love to get some extra use from their Halloween costumes as well. I think I had more fun with this than anyone else and I sure am tired. The kids did some dancing, made masks and colored, heard the story of The Little Orange House, and ate lots of yummy treats! The cuteness was beyond expectation.

You know my kids are Dennison’s because they LOVE chop suey. Who doesn’t really? It’s a hearty comfort food and the leftovers are just as good fried. Remember how much Lucy loved it? Here’s Jack really enjoying his dinner!

Did you know we have a cat? She isn’t very friendly but I still love her.
