I have a new found love for the blog Pioneer Woman. It has opened my horizons to all I have to learn about photo editing. Ever since I got my Digital SLR, I have been wanting to learn all there is to know about taking better photos. Day to day I take tons of pictures. Some I love and others I delete without hesitation. Well now I am obtaining the tools to love my photos that much more. Some of my favorite blogs listed on the right have really helped me on my mission to learn as much as I can with my little bit of free time. Luckily we have Adobe Photoshop and actions are easier to use than I ever imagined. Here are two examples of one of my favorite little subjects as I edited the photos. The one on the left is the original and then I played with it a bit but still thought I could do a tad more. What do you think? Did I do too much to it? I am sure you will see many more examples along the way.

I have wanted to take Lucy bowling for a while now. And as I suspected, she loved it. She still needed some help even with the bumpers but it was a nice way to have some fun. My favorite part of our adventure was when Lucy encouraged the older man bowling a few lanes down. He came in after us and just bowled one game before leaving. At one point Lucy looked over and watched his ball go flying down to the pins. Amazed at how many he got down in one shot, she said to him, “You’re doing a great job!” She really does melt my heart.

Lucy and I went to visit the Museum of Science this week. She absolutely loved it there. I love to hear her say how “humongous” the dinosaur was. Here are a few favorite pictures of our budding scientist from the Discovery Center. I have a feeling we’ll be going back to play again soon.

This is the Lucy version of Ten on Tuesday and yes I know I’m a day late with this one. A quick update on some things going on in the life of Lucy.

1. She is obsessed with Beauty and the Beast! Auntie Sue let her borrow the VHS and we dug out the old machine. Luckily it still worked but I can’t say the same for the tape if we continue to watch it once or twice a day. You really have to see first hand as she reenacts the the end where Belle proclaims her love and kisses the Beast. Her poor Ariel doll has been the recipient of said kisses.

2. According to Lucy, our President is “Obamo!”

3. When Lucy is in dance class and they practice their recital routine, she sings the song at the top of her lungs. Mark your calendars for May 16th!

4. We are so proud of her drawing skills. She can draw a great circle. When recently asked to draw one she replied, “Dad, I’m all out of circles…”

5. On our recent trip to the Museum of Science. Lucy introduced herself to a young woman taking a picture of “Rex.” After the girl responded to Lucy asking her name, Lucy reached out and shook her hand and said “Nice to meet you Courtney!” Too funny!

6. Today she told me, “I like fire because I like marshmallows.” She is totally my kid!

7. Apparently Lucy wants a sister because no matter how much I correct her she constantly tells people, “That’s my buddy Jackie. He’s my sister.” At least she gets the he part right. Poor kid.

8. It’s almost March and yet, Lucy has not let go of Christmas. We still sing Santa Claus is coming to town before bed and she recently requested it at a birthday party. And she came in my room the other morning and told me, “I was dreaming about Elf…”

9. Anyone have any potty training tips? Bribing her isn’t working.

10. It’s bitter sweet that she knows my name. I like knowing that if she ever needed to tells someone my name, she could but it’s so weird to hear her say it. After work the other night, she wandered around wearing my badge saying, “I’m Tanya. I’m Tanya.” Months ago while we were driving I hear her grooving in the back seat and then she says, “Dance with me Tanya, dance with me!” I almost drove off the road.

Stay tuned for more from the Lucy show soon!

I recently did a product testimonial for Learning Curve’s new breast pump, miPump. Most of you are probably not interested in hearing about my pumping thoughts but I still wanted to share me in all my dorkiness.

Here I am doing an online video.

Plus you get a peek at Jack when he was a few weeks old. At one point during the shooting he was snoring and the sound guy thought it was quite funny. It was a fun thing to do for this Stay at Home Mom (SAHM).
