Daddy blogging here. This morning over breakfast, I asked my Lu what she wanted to be when she grew up. After considering the question for a few seconds and tapping her finger on her chin a few times she bodly answered, “a Mermaid!”
I think it will be fun to keep an account of her answers to this question as she grows older. I have absololutely no idea what kind of answers I gave to the “What I want to be when I grow up” question and it would have been great if someone had kept track.
Tom had a man’s weekend on the Cape so Lu and I were on our own. We had some fun though with Grammie and Auntie Rachel on Saturday. We ventured out in the rain to do some shopping. Lucy was great despite not having a nap. She actually went napless all weekend and I pray she isn’t ready to give them up. I need the sanity time and I’m not afraid to admit that the break is nice midday!
Sunday we ventured off to Babies R Us to scope out some things for this baby. Hard to believe he’ll be here in just about a months time! I had an expiring coupon so I splurged with Tom’s permission and picked up a new infant seat for the little guy. Lucy thought I should get him a pink one but I stuck with blue and it’s very nice! I love exploring all the new baby items. They have some great stuff out there.
Uncle Kenny drove Daddy home so we invited him to join us for dinner. I had meatballs in the crockpot going all day and made a ziti bake to go with them. Then I got adventurous and made some oreo truffle balls. They came out ok and they’ll be better next time. Teh recipe can be found on this yummy blog – Beantown Baker. Lucy had lots of fun with her uncle and even showed off her guitar hero skills for a bit. Sadly she didn’t bring him much luck with his fantasy football team.
I’ll work on getting some new pictures to share this week. And I’ll have lots from Christina’s wedding on Saturday. I am so very excited for her!
If you have not had a chance, be sure to check out and support Lucy in her walk for Juvenile Diabetes. She will be walking with the Pimental family team for her third year!
Have an awesome Monday!
Lucy and daddy like to spend some time rocking out before bed. She likes to tell you that she “rocks out!” and that she often gets “boo’d off the stage!” It’s quite the sight.
Today, September 19th, is Talk Like a Pirate Day! And since it’s Friday, here is a little flashback photo.
So, this is going to be a completely random blog post. Forgive me if I jump around but it’s nap time and I thought I’d type away for a bit.
I chopped my hair last night. It is the shortest it’s ever been and I LOVE it! Melissa (my stylist) did tell me she would not cut it any shorter. So that gives you an idea of how short I went this time. It’s super quick when it’s short and I need that but I do feel like it gives me that almost 30 mom look. Hopefully I still look “cool.” And I use that term very loosely when describing myself.
Lucy talks about the baby quite a bit lately but in reality she has no idea there is about to be a little guy in her life to stay. She does so well with babies but when it comes time for him to be here in our house, I know it will be quite a transition. The fact that it is around the corner is starting to sink in. And on that topic, I am feeling good other than this crazy heartburn! He moves around quite a bit and I don’t think he is head down yet. Hoping he goes there and stays there soon enough.
As you can tell from my below post, I am very excited about Christmas. Bought the first little thing for Lucy today and I made up my shopping list. Now I just need ideas for everyone! I’ve got to stay on a smaller budget this year but I love to give for the holidays! Halloween is as good as here as far as I am concerned so soon enough Christmas stuff will be out everywhere!
I am super excited about Christina’s upcoming wedding! I just know it is going to be a beautiful elegant affair. She will look so beautiful and I am so happy for her. I ordered myself a dress that arrived today and love it! So glad I found it and it reappeared in a larger size! I’ll be happy to look half way decent at 36 weeks pregnant.
The topic of weddings brings me to a topic that drives me nuts. RSVP-ing these days seems to be at an all time low. “Répondez, s’il vous plaît” means please respond! Consider this my public service part of this blog post. When you get an invitation in the mail, it means someone near and dear to you is requesting you share in a special moment in their life. This spark some excitement. Now, I know not everyone strives to be the first RSVP back to the sender but there is some etiquette involved. Trust me when I tell you that people will not “know” if you will be there or not. Nor is it polite to leave the hostess in wonder. Plain and simple, you either will or will not be there and the person should either plan on you for the meal or not. I could probably write about this in it’s own blog post but I’ll end here by asking politely that you consider your own rsvp style and maybe revamp it next time you get a pretty invitation in the mail! And for those of you that don’t know, if you put mail in your mailbox to go out, your mailperson will take it for you. You don’t even need to leave your home to RSVP!
And a little cuteness to end this for today. She asked me to take her picture today but she’s so fast that she is usually gone before the lens cap is off. I call this one “Why is the sky blue?”
